Last week the German game magazine PC Games reported about the Speedruns Archive and listed the ten fastest speedruns. 3rd fastest speedrun of all games is the following MOO2 advanced game versus 1 AI. Just 39 seconds:

I have to wonder...what's the point of speed-running a turn-based game? Shouldn't a speed run be measured in turns rather than realtime?

The point of speed running games is all ego. Its a sport almost, where people spend countless hours figuring out the fastest possible way to complete a game so they can 'one-up' the worldwide gaming community.But anyway, awesome vid. The author posted some cool comments over at the SDA page under his submission. I LOL'd at his statement: Thanks to my wife for putting up with all the hours spent on 'that game.'
